Fire dog SBV 136
A hand-forged fire dog in the shape of a phoenix. The object was designed by Bertil Vallien in the mid-1960s. The purpose of a fire dog is to put wood on it in a fireplace to make it easier to get oxygen into the fire and thus make it easier to get it lit. The SBV 136 fire dog is one of the unique products in the category of fireplace accessories that can only be found at Boda Smide. In our archives, the item has the designation SBV 136, which means that this fire dog is the one hundred and thirty-sixth designed item for serial production at Boda Smide.
Boda Smide uses renowned designers and skilled craftsmen to create unique utilitarian and decorative objects in iron and glass. In the forge, the wrought iron is shaped into beautiful utility items, with each product made unique by the blacksmith's skill and craftsmanship.
